Donations

What is Kwik Trip Kares?

Kwik Trip Kares is Kwik Trip Inc.’s corporate donation program.

Does my organization qualify to receive a donation from Kwik Trip Kares?

If your organization is considered non-profit or tax exempt, you may qualify for a donation if approved by the committee. Our funding is limited to supporting basic human necessities, such as food pantries, human health issues, police, fire and military protection.

How do I submit an application requesting a donation?

To apply for a donation, please visit the application page.

Where should I send additional materials to complement my donation request?

If you have supplemental material to accompany your donation request, please email it to donations@kwiktrip.com. Please be sure to reference your donation request ID number in the email.

When will I be contacted about the decision on my donation request?

Due to the large number of requests that we receive, we ask applicants to allow four to six weeks for a decision to be made.

How long will it take for me to receive a decision on my request?

The donation committee meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Please allow four to six weeks for a decision to be made.

What kind of donation should I expect to receive?

Donations range from monetary to in-kind.

Are there programs that Kwik Trip Kares will not fund?

Yes, Kwik Trip Kares funds are not given to the following:

• Organizations that are based outside our general market area
• Youth sports
• Political or social functions
• Organizations that limit their services to members of one religious group or whose services propagate religious faith or creed
• Individuals (scholarships, loans, beauty pageants, race cars, etc.)
• Animal causes (humane societies, zoos, etc.)
• Advertising

Do I work with my local store regarding a donation?

We ask that all donation requests be submitted through our online system. You will then be directed to contact your local store if necessary. Only requests submitted through this site via the application page will be considered for funding. Requests submitted by mail, phone or email will not be considered for funding and those applicants will be redirected to complete the online application process.

Fuel

Is E85 fuel really a smart choice?

E85 has a number of clear advantages:

• It’s homegrown and renewable, reducing our dangerous dependence on foreign oil.
• It’s cleaner than petroleum-based fuels, cutting ozone-forming pollution by 20 percent and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by nearly 30 percent.
• It’s less toxic for the environment. Unlike gasoline, E85 contains no toxic compounds like benzene, toluene and xylene.
• Finally, it has fewer BTUs per gallon than gasoline (so your fuel economy may go down a little), but its lower price often makes up the difference.

How do I know if my vehicle is designed to accept flex fuel?

Look for a label on the inside of your vehicle’s fuel door, check your owner’s manual or visit www.CleanAirChoice.org and www.afdc.energy.gov to see if your vehicle is listed as a flexible fuel vehicle (FFV).

What is ethanol?

Ethanol is a grain alcohol that can be blended with gasoline. Ethanol can be fermented from many sources of starch including corn, wheat, grain, barley, and potatoes. This is a renewable energy resource that is domestically produced, more cost effective, burns cleaner, and has less emissions than gasoline alone.

What is E85?

Flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs) look like regular cars, trucks or SUVs, but they’re equipped to run on any blend of ethanol from zero to 85 percent. Today, there are millions of FFVs on U.S. highways. FFVs are fully warranted and typically available at no extra cost to the consumer.

To safely and effectively operate a vehicle on E85, the vehicle must be compatible with use of alcohol. Aftermarket conversion of gasoline-powered vehicles to ethanol-fueled vehicles, although possible, is not recommended because of the necessary changes in component materials, the high cost and the need for extensive calibration.

What’s the story about octane?

An octane rating is a standard measure of the performance of fuel. The higher the octane level, the more compression the fuel can withstand before igniting. Gasolines are generally rated with an anti-knock index number that measures octane quality.

Any tips for saving even more money on fuel?

Absolutely, and these tips work no matter what type of vehicle or fuel you use.

Before you hop in the car:

• Plan trips to avoid rush-hour traffic
• Consolidate trips when possible
• Keep vehicle weight to a minimum
• Be sure to completely release your parking brake

While driving:

• Drive at a smooth, steady pace
• Avoid unnecessary braking
• Avoid “rabbit” starts and stops (quick acceleration and hard braking)
• Use fresh air from vents or windows for driver comfort rather than air conditioners
• Don’t idle for an extended time (turn your engine off instead)
• Drive in the highest gear that your situation permits and use the overdrive gear if you have it

Keep your car in good repair:

• Keep tire pressure at the manufacturer-recommended level (note: tire pressure should be checked before driving when your tires are “cold”)
• Check tire wear frequently as unusual wear patterns are signs your car needs service
• Keep wheels properly aligned and balanced
• Follow manufacturer standards for keeping your car tuned and changing your oil
• Replace dirty air filters

Are natural gas vehicles safe?

Yes. They are inspected and held to the same safety and fire protection standards as gasoline or diesel-powered vehicles.

Is compressed natural gas (CNG) safe?

Yes. Natural gas is a very safe fuel and used by millions of Americans every day. CNG has a higher ignition point combined with a narrow flammability range, making it safer relative to gasoline.

If a CNG leak occurs, the gas, being lighter than air, will dissipate into the atmosphere quickly, greatly reducing the threat of fire.

What are some other benefits of natural gas?

The U.S. has the largest natural gas reserves in the world. Natural gas can power America’s vehicles, homes and businesses for generations to come.

By converting to natural gas, you help create and support a demand that will generate domestic distribution, service and production jobs in America. The dollars you spend at the pump go right back into the American economy, not overseas to finance foreign economies.

What are the environmental benefits of using natural gas as fuel?

Natural gas is a clean energy source. When used as a fuel for vehicles, its benefits are:

• 90–97 percent reduction in carbon monoxide emissions
• 25 percent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions
• 35–60 percent reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions
• Fewer toxic and carcinogenic pollutants and little or no particulate matter produced
• No evaporative emissions or odors in dedicated engines compared to those associated with gasoline or diesel fuel

Is compressed natural gas (CNG) affordable?

Absolutely. CNG currently costs 30 percent less than gasoline or diesel fuel in a per-gallon comparison. What’s more, because most CNG comes from America, the markets for CNG are less sensitive to foreign events, unlike the volatility of petroleum-based foreign fuels.

Thanks to the lower cost of CNG fuel, converting your existing vehicle or purchasing a natural gas vehicle (NGV) generates an attractive return on investment.

What is Unleaded 88?

Unleaded 88 is a blend of gasoline containing 85 percent 84 octane gasoline and 15 percent ethanol. It is similar to Regular or Unleaded (10 percent ethanol) with just a little more ethanol. Unleaded 88 has more octane than Unleaded and also costs less, making it the best value gasoline product for your vehicle.

Who can use Unleaded 88?

All 2001 or newer vehicles can use Unleaded 88. In 2011, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) tested and approved the use of Unleaded 88 in all light-duty vehicles made in 2001 and after. The Energy Department test program was comprised of 86 vehicles that were operated up to 120,000 miles, each using an industry-standard, EPA-defined test cycle called the Standard Road Cycle. The resulting Energy Department data showed no statistically significant loss of vehicle performance (emissions, fuel economy and maintenance issues) attributable to the use of Unleaded 88 fuel compared to straight gasoline.

How do I make a gas related claim?

1. Print the Customer Claim forms below or call 608-781-8988; ask for Risk Management and we will send you the proper forms.
2. Fill out the Customer Data portion of the form
3. Have your mechanic or repair facility fill out the Service Data portion of the form.
4. Send the complete form along with copies of your repair bill to the address on the form.
5. We will reimburse you for any legitimate fuel-related repairs and the gasoline.

Car Wash

What is Kwik Guard?

Kwik Guard is our newest wash package which offers Graphene. Graphene is one of the world’s strongest substances. It creates a hydrophobic protective layer over the surface of your vehicle to protect it from the environment i.e. harmful UV rays, acid rain, etc. Our graphene protectant gives your vehicle a smooth, sealed surface that dust and dirt have a harder time sticking to which helps keep your vehicle cleaner, longer. Added bonus – Lava Shine, which is a shine enhancer, is included!

What is Graphene?

Graphene is one of the strongest materials on earth. When Graphene bonds to your vehicle’s paint, it’s like adding a shield against everyday wear and tear.

Can I use a car wash if I have a ceramic coating on my vehicle?

The recommendation to keep the integrity of your professionally applied ceramic coating is to use a Touch Free wash with a base package that excludes waxes or sealants. Our Standard Touch Free wash is a good option if your ceramic coating is fully intact. Confirm ceramic maintenance specifics from your detailer/dealer. While they may state how long the ceramic coating on your vehicle should last, due to air pollutants/environmental factors and how often you wash, the life expectancy can change.

Does Kwik Trip Reuse Water?

There are 3 locations that utilize water reclamation. Water reclamation is often required due to a city mandate to operate a car wash. We re-use approximately 30-50% of water and continually introduce fresh water to the reclaimed water. The 3 locations currently utilizing water reclamation are:

What is a friction wash?

A friction wash involves physical touch to your vehicle. A friction wash can be done by washing your vehicle at home with a brush or cloth or going through a Soft Touch automatic car wash. We use a soft foam closed cell material, that repels dirt, at our In Bay Automatic (IBA) sites. Our Tunnel sites utilize the same soft foam while also incorporating a micro fleece material on the mitters that hang down.

In the car wash industry, it’s recommended to apply friction to your vehicle twice per year to remove the oils, road grime and wax build up.  Reason being that sometimes a Touch Free automatic wash doesn’t get the road grime or wax build up off, and you need to apply friction.  If you have specific finishes on your vehicle that are not standard, or OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), refer to installer for instructions washing restrictions/limitations/requirements.

Why is there a film on my vehicle?

Has your vehicle had any friction (a wash that involves physical touch) applied to it recently? Sometimes a Touch Free automatic wash doesn’t get the road oils or wax build up off your vehicle and you need to apply friction. An illustration of why you need friction on your vehicle can be compared to when you wash dishes at home. If you have caked on food or a thick layer of grease, you won’t be able to remove it by pouring on soap and immediately spraying it off. You’ll need friction (brush or cloth), chemical and water.

What is the difference between Touch Free and Soft Touch?

Touch Free uses hot presoak and high-pressure water to clean; and sometimes, like a dishwasher, that’s just not enough to get the stuck-on debris off.  Soft Touch utilizes foam brush technology to clean your vehicle. We use a soft foam closed cell material that repels dirt at our In Bay Automatic (IBA) sites. Our Tunnels utilize the same technology while also incorporating a micro fleece material on the mitters that hang down. See “Amenities” FAQ below.

What type of wash should I use in the spring?

As the temperatures teeter back and forth between warming up during the day and being colder at night, road grime starts to break up and will get on vehicles, causing a film. A Soft Touch wash will do the best job on road grime, or a film build up.

What type of wash should I use in the fall?

As the temperatures fluctuate between warming up during the day and being colder at night, road grime starts to break up and will get on vehicles, causing a film. A Soft Touch wash will do the best job on road grime, or a film build up.

What type of wash should I use in the summer?

This time of year, there are more bugs and bird droppings that will find our vehicles. We suggest using the Touch Free Kwik Guard, or Elite wash, for its bug buster enzyme which helps to break down bugs and bird droppings. However, the rule of thumb is that if you need to use any rubbing (friction) to remove debris, an automatic convenience wash won’t remove the debris because the amount of pressure needed would remove paint.

Pro Tip: If you have baked in bird droppings or bugs, try lubricating the front of the vehicle with something prior to getting a wash. An easy option: while getting gasoline, use the windshield washer fluid to drizzle some fluid on the bugs and bird dropping spots to loosen them up then proceed to the car wash.

What type of wash should I use in the winter?

Salt and dirt from roads are easier to remove with high pressure. If there are large ice chunks or frozen slush build up on your vehicle, this will most likely not come off in the wash. If it does come off, the vehicle won’t be clean under that area. Remove ice or snow build up before washing.

How do I use the Tunnel car wash?

Pull up to the code box/pay station, place your vehicle in park. Enter your payment/code. Once the code box tells you the wash is ready, the screen in the bay will instruct you to pull forward slowly and evenly center your vehicle on the moving tracks. The screen and voice will tell you to place your vehicle in Neutral and take your foot off the brake. As with most Tunnels, you must place your vehicle in Neutral once on the moving belt. Once you’ve completed your wash, the lighted sign outside the bay will tell you to ‘GO’. Place your vehicle in Drive and exit the bay. Our Tunnels can accommodate up to 4 vehicles at a time, reducing your wait time. Additionally, the Tunnel wash is quicker. The average wash time is 3 minutes.

How big of a vehicle can be washed?

For an In Bay Automatic wash: 22 feet long, 85 inches wide and 7 feet tall.

If the vehicle is too long, the top boom (or brush) won’t drop at the back of the vehicle because the eyes on the gantry won’t detect or see the end of the vehicle. The gantry will go all the way down the track, but the boom (or brush) won’t be able to wash the back end of it.

For a Tunnel wash – 85 inches wide, 7 feet tall. Length is not a factor for the Tunnel wash as a Tunnel will wash every length of vehicle within the confines of 85 inches wide and 7 feet tall.

Can I wash my dual wheel truck?

No, Dual Wheels aka Dually’s are prohibited.

What does aftermarket mean and what are aftermarket accessories?

Aftermarket accessories are parts or modifications not made by the original vehicle manufacturer (OEM). These are typically produced by third-party companies and are designed to replace or enhance existing components or add features not originally included.

Some Examples of these are: bug guards, brush/grille guards, roof racks, spoilers, truck bed covers, anything in the back of a truck bed (toolboxes, fuel tanks, etc.), and trailer hitches. There are many other aftermarket accessories not listed here.

What is an In Bay Automatic Wash?

An In Bay Automatic wash is where you drive into the bay, and once instructed with a red STOP, place your vehicle in park. The machine (gantry) moves around your vehicle while cleaning it. Your vehicle is stationary.

What is a Tunnel wash?

A Tunnel wash is an automated car wash system where you drive onto a moving conveyor belt (centered on the track), place your vehicle in neutral, and the conveyor belt pulls the vehicle thru the various cleaning stages.

Kwik Rewards

What is the Kwik Rewards program?

The Kwik Rewards program lets you earn rewards and discounts just for visiting our stores. It is our way of rewarding our loyal guests.  

How do I sign up for the Kwik Rewards program?

– Option 1: Pick up a Kwik Rewards card at any Kwik Trip or Kwik Star location, then register it online at www.kwikrewards.com. You can also download the Kwik Rewards app and sign up with a digital card. When signing up online, you will not be sent a physical card.

 

– Option 2: Register a Kwik Rewards Account through the Kwik Rewards App without having a physical Kwik Rewards Card. After downloading the Kwik Rewards App and clicking ‘sign-up,’ you should click the ‘no, not yet’ option when you are asked if you have a 16-digit rewards number. When you register through the App without a physical card, our system will randomly generate a 16-digit number that will appear under the barcode in your App. To track visits to your Kwik Rewards Account, you will need to scan the barcode in your app or enter your ALT ID (phone number) at the register. (You will not be mailed a physical Kwik Rewards Card)

How do I find my 16-digit loyalty ID/Rewards number?

There are three ways you can find your 16-digit Kwik Rewards Loyalty ID.

• Kwik Rewards App: You can find your 16-digit Loyalty ID by opening the Kwik Rewards App and selecting ‘Scan’ on the bottom middle of your screen. Underneath the barcode will be your 16-digit Kwik Rewards number that starts with 70822.
• Email from Kwik Rewards: You can also find your Kwik Rewards number by reviewing any email you’ve received from Kwik Rewards. Your Loyalty ID will be on the top right of your screen starting with 70822
• White Kwik Rewards Card: Your 16-digit Kwik Rewards number is located on the back of your white Kwik Rewards Card.

How do I find my 16-digit loyalty ID/Rewards number for Fleet?

There are two ways you can find your 16-digit Fleet Kwik Rewards Loyalty ID

• Kwik Rewards Fleet App: You can find your 16-digit Loyalty ID by opening the Kwik Rewards app and selecting ‘Scan’ on the bottom middle of your screen. Underneath the barcode will be your 16-digit Kwik Rewards number starting with 708221.
• Black Kwik Rewards Fleet Card:Your 16-digit Kwik Rewards number is located on the back of your black Kwik Rewards Fleet Card starting with 708221

How do I use my 15th visit rewards?

Grab the item you have as your 15th visit reward in the app and bring it to the register. This item must be chosen as your 15th visit reward in the app, once you go to the register the pin pad will prompt you to accept or decline your reward after payment. Select accept if you would like to use 15 visits. After you select accept, the visits will be deducted from your rewards app.

Why didn't I receive the reward I was expecting? 

If you did not receive the reward you were expecting, please contact customer support at 1-800-305-6666.

How do I earn rewards?

You earn rewards by making qualifying purchases. For a complete list of promotions visit www.kwikrewards.com.

How will I know If I have earned a reward? 

You can track your available rewards on the Kwik Rewards Mobile App or website. You must register your Kwik Rewards card to redeem your rewards.

When do I get my rewards? 

You start earning your way toward rewards the moment you use your Kwik Rewards card in one of our stores. You must register your card at www.kwikrewards.com to redeem your rewards. Rewards may take up to 24 hours to show up in your account. You can track your available rewards on the mobile app or website.

Why didn't I receive a visit? 

You may only earn one visit within a thirty-minute period. For example, if you use your card at the fuel dispenser and then make a food purchase inside the store, you will only receive one visit.

What are Partner Offers?

You can use your visits to redeem in the app for select merchandise items. Items will vary as supply is limited per item.

Can I sign up for Kwik Rewards without an email address? 

An email address is required to register and communicate program offers and details. You have the option to opt out of promotional emails by unsubscribing at the bottom of any email.

Can I sign up for Kwik Rewards without a mobile phone? 

A mobile phone number is required to register for the program and is used as your alternate rewards ID. You also can receive text messages with exclusive offers and deals.

Is there a minimum age to participate in the Kwik Rewards program? 

You must be at least 13 years old to join. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you will need permission from your parent or legal guardian to enroll.

My Kwik Rewards card has been lost/stolen, what should I do? 

Currently, we are unable to print a new Kwik Rewards Card with your existing rewards number on it. Instead, to obtain a new Kwik Rewards Card, please stop by any of our store locations and ask an employee for a new card. Once you have this, you will need to link the new card to your existing rewards account. To do this, please follow these steps:

 

If you are on a computer:

Go to www.kwikrewards.com 

Sign in using the email and password associated with your account

Click the “Account” icon on the top of the screen

Click “Link New Loyalty Card”

Enter the 16-digit Kwik Trip Rewards Card number listed on the back of your new rewards card and click “Link Account”

 

If you are on the app:

Launch the app and log-in if necessary

Click the ‘More’ icon on the bottom of the screen

Click ‘Settings”

Click “Link New Loyalty Card”

Enter the 16-digit number from the back of the card

Click “Link Card”

 

By linking the card to your account, you will not lose any points you earned on your old card; all of them will combine under your one account.

Can I add other people to my Kwik Rewards account? 

The Kwik Rewards program is open to individuals only. The rewards belong to the registered user of the account.

How do I update my account information? 

You can update your account information at www.kwikrewards.com, using the Kwik Rewards Mobile App or by calling customer support at 1-800-305-6666.

What are Digital Punchcards? 

Digital Punchcards are virtual cards where you can earn free products. For example, “buy 10 Pepsi 20-oz. bottles, get the 11th free.” For a list of current Digital PunchCards, visit www.kwikrewards.com or log into your Kwik Rewards Mobile App.

Do I have to have a smartphone to participate? 

A smartphone is not required—but we do require a mobile phone number to register. This number will be used as your alternate rewards ID. You also have the option to receive text messages with exclusive offers and deals this way. If you do not have access to downloading an app, visit kwikrewards.com to log into your rewards account.

If I forgot to show my card, do I still get my rewards? 

You must swipe, scan, or enter your alternate ID before the transaction is finalized to earn or use your rewards. If you have a discrepancy, please contact customer support at 1-800-305-6666.

Where can I use my rewards? 

You can use your rewards at any Kwik Trip, Kwik Star, Stop-N-Go, Tobacco Outlet Plus Grocery or Tobacco Outlet Plus store. For a complete store list visit the Kwik Trip locator page.

Why am I having trouble redeeming rewards at the store? 

You must register your card online before redeeming your rewards. If you are still having trouble, please contact customer support at 1-800-305-6666.

Can I transfer my rewards to someone else? 

No. You cannot transfer your rewards to anyone else.

What if my phone number changes? 

Your phone number can be used as your alternate rewards ID. Phone number changes can be updated in your account settings or by calling customer support at 1-800-305-6666.

What if my email changes? 

You must call customer support at 1-800-305-6666 to update your email address.

What are Fan Zone Points?

Fan Zone Points are rewards you earn when shopping at Kwik Trip Inc. locations using your Kwik Rewards card. For every whole dollar spent (before taxes and after discounts), you earn one Fan Zone Point.

These points are automatically added to your Fan Zone Points balance in your Kwik Rewards account. You can use them to enter for a chance to win exciting prizes, ticket voucher codes, and exclusive experiences.

To see current promotions and opportunities to redeem your Fan Zone points, log into your Kwik Rewards account and visit the “Fan Zone” section.

Fuel Rewards

How do fuel discounts work? 

You can earn fuel discounts by purchasing qualifying in-store items. For a complete list of promotions, visit www.kwiktrip.com/savings/fuel-discounts

Fuel discounts can only be used once on a single fuel purchase and cannot exceed 30 gallons. Ex: You cannot combine 10 gallons from pump #1 and 20 Gallons from pump #2 to use a discount on the combined 30 gallons. Fuel discounts expire 30 days after they have been earned.

How do I use my Kwik Rewards card at the pump?

Which pumps can I use my base rewards card on?

The base Kwik Rewards card can only be used on any pump under the main canopy.

What happens if I have more fuel rewards than the price of fuel? 

The fuel dispenser will never decrease the price of fuel below $0.019. Fuel discounts are valid for individual use only, up to 30 gallons.

Can I combine my fleet and base cards?  

Unfortunately, you are not able to combine these two cards on your account as they are two different Rewards Programs

What's the difference between Kwik Rewards and Kwik Rewards Plus Credit/Debit?

The Kwik Rewards Plus Credit/Debit offers you additional fuel and in-store discounts. This program gives you the ability to use your card as a form of payment plus all the benefits of the Kwik Rewards base program.

Where to apply for a Plus Credit/Debit?  

1. Navigate to www.kwikrewards.com and log-in with the email and password associated with your Kwik Rewards Account.
2. Click on the “Kwik Rewards Plus” icon in the top menu bar
3. Select the Credit or Debit Card application you would like to apply for.
4. Complete the registration form. If approved, a new card will be mailed in two-four weeks.

Why would I want the Kwik Rewards Plus Credit/Debit?

Can I give my rewards to a charity of my choice?

Can I use my alternate ID to pay for my purchase?

No, you cannot use your alternate ID to pay for any purchases at this time.

What items are not eligible for the in-store percent discount?

How do I make a One-Time Payment?

1. Navigate to www.kwikrewards.com
2. Click the red “log in” button
3. Enter the email and password associated with your Kwik Rewards Account and click the red “log in” button
4. Click the ‘Kwik Plus’ tab in the top menu bar. When you are on this page, you should be able to see your current balance, statement balance, etc.
5. To make a payment, click the red ‘my payment’ button
6. Under my payment click the red “make a payment” under schedule a new payment
7. Choose the amount you wish to pay, select a date, select the account then click the red submit payment button

Is the standard Kwik Rewards card a credit/debit card? 

The Kwik Rewards base card is not a credit/debit card. However, we do offer a Kwik Rewards Plus Credit/Debit card where you can receive instant fuel and in-store discounts.

What is the difference between Kwik Rewards and Kwik Rewards Plus Credit/Debit? 

The Kwik Rewards program does not have payment attached to it. For additional fuel and in-store discounts, you have the option to upgrade to the Kwik Rewards Plus Credit/Debit card. How do I use my digital Kwik Rewards card?

From the home screen, tap the red barcode icon and present the barcode at the register. This is what the cashier will use to scan your rewards. Once registered, you can use your phone number as an alternate ID. You also have the option to add your digital Kwik Rewards card to your Apple or Google Wallet.

Can I use my digital Kwik Rewards card at the pump?

Not at this time. You can use your physical Kwik Rewards card or enter your alternate ID to earn or redeem your rewards at the pump.

How do I add coupons/offers to my account?  

If you are using the Kwik Rewards App: 

1. Launch the Kwik Rewards App and log-in if necessary

How do I fundraise with Kwik Trip?

Who can participate in the fundraising card program?

Any organization can participate, and it is free to join.

Can organizations purchase fundraising cards from store locations?

Unfortunately no. The cards must be ordered from the corporate office. When your account is set up you will be given a user ID and password so that you can place orders online. You can also place orders by emailing us at fundraising@kwiktrip.com.

Do you charge a shipping fee?

We offer free shipping for all fundraising orders.

What are the benefits of the ULTIMATE car wash, and what does it normally cost?

Undercarriage flush, presoak, high-pressure wash or soft foam wash, triple shine vehicle enhancer/cleaner, spot-free rinse and 95-second super dry. Wash amenities vary slightly by location. A 5-count ULTIMATE car wash card retails for $40.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Acceptable forms of payment are check or ACH checking account. With the ACH option, funds can either be withdrawn from the bank account you provide on the next business day after your order is shipped or 30 days after your order is shipped.

Where can fundraising gift cards be used?

The fundraising gift cards can be used at any Kwik Trip/Kwik Star location and its subsidiaries. They can be used at the pumps or for any in-store purchase, excluding financial services.

Kwik Charge

What is the CCS1 connector?

The CCS1 (Combined Charging System Type 1) connector is primarily used in North America to support both Level 2 (AC) and Level 3 (DC) charging.

What is the NACS connector?

The NACS (North American Charging Standard) connector is otherwise known as the “Tesla connector.” This connector was introduced by Tesla and has recently gained traction in North America. We are seeing charging networks and automakers begin to adopt NACS.

How do I know which connector my vehicle uses?

If you are not sure which connector your vehicle uses, please call our customer support line at +1 608-793-6267.

Where are the cables located on the Kwik Charge™ charger?

The connectors are labeled on the charger and on screen.

• The CCS1 connector is located on the left side of the charger.
• The NACS connector is located on the right of the charger.

How do I start a charging session?

1. Park in the allocated Kwik Charge™ parking bays. You should ensure that the connector port on the vehicle is on the correct side for the charger. Avoid pulling the charging cable across your vehicle. Charging cables are heavy and may cause damage if pulled across your vehicle.
2. Remove the relevant connector and connect this to the charging port on your vehicle.
   • Note: Once connected, you have approximately one minute to initiate the payment. If payment is not initiated within one minute, the session will time out.
   • If the session times out, you should replace the connector into the holster on the side of the charger. Remove the connector and connect this to the vehicle’s charging port. Ensure payment is initiated within one minute of this process.
3. Complete payment using the card reader on the charger. The payment terminal and the charging screen will update to show payment processing.
4. Once complete, the screen will update with a message of ‘Communicating with your vehicle’. This starts the communication between the charger and vehicle.
   • Note: This may take up to 30 seconds to complete.
5. Once complete, charging will commence.

How many vehicles can charge at the same time?

Although there are eight ports on the Kwik Charge™ charger, only four vehicles can simultaneously charge at one time. This means that each dispenser can charge one vehicle at any given time.

Can 2 vehicles charge on the same dispenser?

No, each dispenser can only charge one vehicle at any given time. A total of four vehicles can simultaneously charge at one time, one vehicle per dispenser.

Is there a pre-authorization amount?

Yes, when you start the charging session a $75 pre-authorization amount will be held on your card. When the session has ended, the total is recorded.

Note: It may take 1-2 business days for the total amount to reflect on your statement.

Why did my charging session stop at $75?

This may be due to the pre-authorization limit ending the session. If your vehicle still requires charging, you will need to remove the connector and restart the charging session.

Note: This will result in an additional $75 pre-authorization. When the session has ended, the total is recorded. It may take 1-2 business days for the total amount to reflect on your statement.

Why is there is a $75 charge on my card, but my charge session was lower than this amount?

When you start the charging session a $75 pre-authorization amount will be held on your card. When the session has ended, the total is recorded.

My vehicle shows an error and is not charging.

1. Ensure that there are no errors reported on the Kwik Charge™ charger screen.
2. Ensure that the session did not time out due to the time between connecting the cable and initiating payment.
   • Note: Once connected, you have approximately one minute to initiate the payment. If payment is not initiated within one minute, the session will time out.
3. Ensure that there were no payment errors or declined payment.
4. Replace the connector into the holster on the side of the charger. Remove the connector and connect this to the vehicle’s charging port. Ensure payment is initiated within one minute of this process.
5. Complete payment using the card reader on the charger. The payment terminal and the charging screen will update to show payment processing.
6. If the issue persists, move to an alternate dispenser.

Why is my Tesla not charging?

We advise that all Tesla owners consult their user manual within their vehicle prior to using Kwik Charge charging stations. Tesla models prior to 2021 may require a Tesla upgrade to be able to charge. To see if your vehicle can already communicate with CCS, navigate to Controls > Software > Additional Vehicle Information > CCS and 3rd-party NACS DC Fast Charging Support.

• Enabled: Model S,X,3,Y supports the CCS communication protocol and can charge at any CCS station (adapter required) and third party NACS station.
• Not enabled: Your vehicle currently does not support the CCS communication protocol for NACS and CCS charging stations. Use the mobile app to see if you are eligible to schedule a service appointment to enable this through a hardware retrofit. Availability of this retrofit may vary.
• Not compatible: Model S,X,3,Y cannot support the CCS communication protocol and cannot charge at third party NACS or CCS charging stations.

Guests without a receipt can receive a Kwik Trip gift card for the exact amount of the refund. Cash refunds can only be given for amounts less than $5.00.
